We PLAN: What do we want our students to learn? 

WE RISE by designing intentional, aligned learning experiences that integrate literacy, differentiation, student ownership, and AI readiness, and Quality Plus Teaching Strategies into every unit and lesson.

  1. We utilize (Instructional Calendars, Blueprints, Communication Centers, K-12 AI Continuum) as support. 
  2. We prioritize literacy across content areas by embedding reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking in every lesson, aligned to QPTS literacy expectations. 
  3. We deconstruct essential AKS, clarify learning targets, and ensure alignment to appropriate levels of depth and rigor.
  4. We design common summative and formative assessments in advance to serve as a roadmap for instruction and to monitor student progress.
  5. We incorporate AI learning targets into every lesson, including clear identification of key terms, teacher explanation, and purposeful connections throughout the lesson.
  6. We collaborate during Sacred Planning to define AI learning targets, identify key concepts, and plan when and how these targets will be revisited throughout the lesson.
  7. We intentionally plan for the use of QPTS strategies such as questioning, vocabulary, modeling, and activating background knowledge based on content and student needs.

We DO: How will we teach it? 

WE RISE and ROAR by delivering high-quality instruction that meets the needs of every learner while building student voice, ownership, and readiness for the future.

  1. We collaborate regularly as curriculum teams to plan aligned, rigorous, and engaging instruction.
  2. We implement differentiated instruction through intentional small group instruction and responsive practices that address individual student needs.
  3. We structure lessons using a gradual release model, ensuring opportunities for modeling, guided practice, collaboration, and independent learning
  4. We create learning environments that promote student ownership through high-quality student interactions, discourse, and engagement in meaningful tasks.
  5. We require students to set personal learning goals aligned with QPTS student goal-setting and to monitor their progress over time. 
  6. We embed literacy strategies across all content areas, ensuring students engage in daily opportunities to read, write, speak, and think critically.
  7. We integrate AI learning throughout instruction by using teacher talk, prompting questions, and consistent connections across mini-lessons, small groups, independent work, and lesson closure.
  8. We utilize QPTS strategies such as questioning, summarizing, comparison, problem solving, and non-verbal representation to deepen student understanding.
  9. We utilize technology and digital platforms to support instruction, creativity, collaboration, and deeper learning experiences.

  10. We CHECK: How will we know when our students have learned?

    WE RISE by using purposeful assessment practices and roar by actively engaging students in monitoring their own learning.

  11. We use ongoing formative assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, specific feedback aligned with QPTS assessment and feedback.
  12. We analyze student work and assessment data regularly to inform instructional decisions and next steps.
  13. We engage students in self-assessment and reflection, connecting progress to their individual goals.
  14. We evaluate student understanding of both academic content and AI-related thinking, including their ability to apply critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  15. We conduct item analysis and collaborative data discussions to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for growth.

 

  1. We ACT: How will we respond when students learn?  How will we respond if students do not?

    WE RISE through intentional response to data and roar by ensuring every student receives the support needed to succeed.

  2. We use collaborative team meetings to reflect on data, identify effective strategies, and determine next instructional steps.
  3. We respond to student learning through targeted small group instruction, differentiation, reteaching, and enrichment opportunities.
  4. We adjust instruction based on ongoing analysis of student work and assessment results to ensure continuous growth.
  5. We provide opportunities for students to revise, reflect, and extend their learning, strengthening both content mastery and ownership.
  6. We refine instruction by analyzing student responses to QPTS strategies and AI prompts to strengthen critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and real-world application.
